Free Tax Help (end 3/30)
Senior and graduate accounting students from MSU’s College of Business are offering free help preparing tax returns for individuals who made less than $58,000 last year.  The help sessions will be held on the MSU campus in Reid Hall 302. No appointment is necessary. Sessions will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. on the following dates: Feb. 21, 28; March 1, 6, 20, 27, 29; and April 3.
Free electronic filing will be available for most 1040 forms.
Individuals interested in free help should bring their 2011 W-2 forms, other tax documents, social security cards and copies of their 2010 tax returns (if available). International students and employees should also bring their passports and visas. Tax assistance for international students and employees begins Feb. 21.

 
Gallatin Valley Circle of Compassion (end 2/25)
You are invited to participate in the upcoming conference, “Mountains of Courage – Dialogues with the Living about Death and Dying.” The one day conference is designed to explore the end of life journey by providing a relaxed setting for individuals and caregivers to discover available resources, tools and information. The conference will be held on Saturday, February 25th, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Gallatin Gateway Inn. Registration is required as fees for the conference include lunch. General Public $30 if registered before February 12. $45 after February 12. Students with id $20. Mouted Shooters (end 2/25)

Pioneer Museum (end 2/28)
A new exhibit at the Pioneer Museum of Bozeman explores the development of health care in the Gallatin Valley. “Crutches, Cavities and Cures” displays items from a bygone era when doctors carried a black bag and nurses wore either a “short” or “long” cap with a red cross.  The exhibit’s use of museum artifacts previously unseen by the public is a major component of the display.  The Pioneer Museum is located at 317 West Main in downtown Bozeman, and is open Tuesday – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


YMCA Snowball (end 3/3)
The Bozeman Y is having it’s Snow Ball on Saturday, March 3rd.  The fun family night will be held at the Gallatin Gateway Inn beginning at 5pm.  All monies raised go to fund youth programs at the Y, where no one is ever turned away.  There’ll be dinner, dancing, kids crafts and more.  For information or tickets call the Y at 994-96-22


Pony Homecoming Club (end 3/3)
The Pony Homecoming Club is holding a fundraiser to help fund their roof replacement project for the historic Pony gym.  The benefit will be held at the Pony bar on Saturday, March 3rd, beginning with a live auction at 4, followed by a spaghetti dinner at 5:30 and music and dancing at 7p.

Child Development Day (end 3/5)
Takes place Monday, March 5th at the Bozeman Public Library from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration materials will be available for new students, K-5. They’ll have representatives from more than 20 local organizations providing valuable information and resources for young children (ages 0-5). They’ll have goodie bags and lots of great ideas for your child’s successful start in school! If you are interested in having your pre-schooler screened for Special Education please call Amanda Martin at 582-6849. For more information call Liz Cleary at the Enrollment Office at 522-6005.
If you are unable to attend Child Development Day, enrollment packets may be picked up beginning on March 5th at the Enrollment Office, 404 W Main, Rm 133. The deadline for the first round of placement will be Friday April 6st. After that enrollment will be ongoing throughout the summer.


Sweet Pea Festival Poster (end 4/27)
The Sweet Pea Festival organizers are taking entries for their annual poster contest.  The contest is open to all ages and levels of expertise.  There is a $1000 prize for the winner.  The entry deadline is April 27th.  If you would like more info. Visit:  SweetPeaFestival.ORG


Bozeman Family History Center Offers Free Help (tfn)
The Bozeman Family History Center, located at 2915 Colter Avenue, is available to help anyone who comes in to find more about their family history and genealogy. There are over 200 microfilms already in the center permanently as well as thousands of microfiche and 400 to 500 books on various subjects. There is microfilm for every Montana Federal Census done in 1920 and before at the center.
There is no cost for any of the services offered. During 2012 the normal hours are Tuesday evening from 6:00-9:00 PM, Wednesday 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. For more information call  388-4578.

The Bozeman PD has long made crime information available to the public through various means, now you can map and anaylze recent crime activity anywhere in the city of Bozeman by going online.  Stay up to date  with whats happening near your home, work  or your childs school and playgrounds.  Its free. Bozeman PD – Business League (end tfn)
The Bozeman PD is developing a Business League to develop positive working relationships between local businesses throughout the city and the Bozeman Police Department.  General meetings will be scheduled 4 times per year with guest speakers and usefull topics discussed such as: Fraudulent criminal activity, burglary, robbery, workplace violence, and building security.  If you are interested in being a member of the Bozeman Police Business League contact the PD at 582-22-34, or email them at crimeprevention@bozeman.net

 
Childrens Museum of Bozeman (end tfn)

Vaccines for Children (tfn)
Gallatin-City County Health Department has Flu vaccines for Children.  These are for Un-insured or Under-insured kids.  The Health Department will be holding walk-in flu clinics on Mondays from 2p-6p and Tuesday from 8:30A to 11:30a.  All flu clinics are at the Human Services building located at 215 West Mendenhall in Bozeman.  Call 582-3100 for more info

Alzheimer’s Association The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month at 6:30pm at Parkhaven Assisted Living & Retirement Community. For more information please call Chris           at 282-7488.
